Every year, the "Construiracier" association organizes a contest for interior design and design students. In 2014, the theme was : Laser cut has not finished to surprise you. The association teamed up with a specialized laser cut company.
This work was a team work. I was with my binomial of all time Morgane Wermuth.
It's after a walk in a park that we found what we had to do. We decided to create a bench that allow people to sit either in face to face (when you are with friends for example) or to sit in the same direction (as a classic bench). We want to keep this idea very simple in the way people are gonna use it. The simplest way to do that was to design a backrest that pivots on a central axis, allowing the movement of the backrest in the both positions.
For the theme, we decided to use the laser cut for creating a very delicate and subtle pattern. This cut also offer the advantage of lighten the entire bench.
With this project we were the grand laureate of the contest. We won the realisation of the first prototype and know the project is on his way.
